Monthly meeting – February 2022

A message from our Chair:

Dear Members

I hope you will already have read in the February Newsletter that February’s monthly meeting will be at the slightly later time of 3.15pm on Monday 21st February, and will be held in the Council Chamber at the Manor House.  David Gearing will be giving a presentation on ‘Dawlish Life in Pictures 1865-1925’.  We are meeting in the Council Chamber because our normal room may not be ideal for seeing the photographs as the ‘black out’ is not very effective.

I will ask members next week whether they would like to continue to meet at this slightly later time in the months ahead.  While our previous room upstairs is satisfactory in many respects, it is not ideal.  The Council Chamber has some advantages (eg larger capacity, better spacing and black out) but is not available until this later time on our regular meeting day.  Before making any decisions on this, I would welcome feedback from members, so please let me know your thoughts.

As I am sure you would expect, we will do all we can to ensure that the arrangements for our meeting follow the guidance on Covid which exists, including:

  • we will space the seats generously to allow those who wish to maintain social distancing to do so,
  • there will be hand sanitizer available,
  • those who wish to wear masks are encouraged to do so,
  • we ask members to respect each other’s space,
  • there will be good ventilation.

I hope to see you next Monday.

Yours sincerely

John Vick
