The format of meetings varies from month to month. Sometimes an individual member will do a presentation on a theme or artist of their choice, and on other occasions we agree a topic and a number of group members will make a contribution to the discussion.
The range of topics we have explored is very broad and in the past year or two has included the photographer Robert Cartier Bresson, the architect Edwin Lutyens, the painter Velasquez, the Art of the Weimar Republic, Futurism, the Newlyn School and ‘Mother and Child’.
The atmosphere is always informal and relaxed. You do not need to be an expert on art to be a member: an interest in learning more about art is the only qualification.
For further information please see our Art Appreciation News.
