Theatre group review – Lilies on the Land

This was an inspiring tale of four women and their personal journeys when they joined the Women’s Land Army of WW2.

Taken from diaries and previous interviews, it told the tale of the struggles encountered by each of the women as they left their families and home comforts to battle the hardships of farm life, encountering abuse, poverty, lack of sanitation to name just a few. What came through was the grit and determination of these young women to do their best for the war effort.  A thoroughly enjoyable evening and one that will stay with us for a while to come, especially at this time of the year.
