Strollers Social Walking Group September 2020

Jean Gitsham reports:

Our first Strollers walk after Covid 19 lockdown was on August 13th. Nine of us met up near the Shutterton Estate / Sainsbury’s bus stop including two new walkers (Della and George). We strolled alongside the stream where there was a rich variety of wildflowers plus, thanks to Les, we saw a flash of a lovely kingfisher in flight twice! Further along by the railway line even more wildflowers plus either a moorhen or coot partly hidden amongst the greenery on the stream. Our walk ended at The Ship at Cockwood where we enjoyed refreshing drinks in the garden before catching the bus back home.

Our next walk is Thursday Sept 10th, catching the 1.17pm Torquay/Paignton 22 bus from Dawlish and the same 22 bus at 1.32pm from Teignmouth to Babbacombe where we plan to explore Walls Hill and surrounding areas. New walker John will hopefully be joining us. Other new walkers are most welcome to come along.

NB: face masks are needed for bus travel and we will adhere to social distancing recommendations.
