Strollers Social Walking Group – July 2022

Our next Dawlish Stollers walk is on Thursday July 14th. Our walk will be another chance to explore the 12 acres of Teignmouth old cemetery or a first visit for new Strollers!

There is parking outside the old cemetery if you come by car. The entry to Teignmouth old cemetery is on the left as you go up Higher Buckeridge Road off New Road.

For those coming by bus, it’s the number 2 Newton Abbot bus at 12.32pm from Dawlish.  Get off at the Seaview Diner stop in Teignmouth, then walk over to the bus stop by WH Smiths for the number 80 Country Bus which leaves at 1.10pm.

The plan is to get off the bus by Hazeldown school and to walk down to explore the nearby cemetery. There are lovely trees, views and wildflowers plus planted graves and flower beds, butterflies etc.  And of course lots of interesting memorials to see and hear about.

There is no cafe or pub nearby so we can either walk down into town for refreshments or, if in a hurry to get back to Dawlish, the number 22 Dawlish Warren bus leaves from the nearby stop in New Road at 25 minutes past each hour.

Our August walk on Thursday 11th will be to the new Teignbridge Council (TDC) Ridgetop Country Park  (see article here). At Exminster we’ll get off the bus opposite the garage then take nearby public footpath up to the park. The first field is quite a hill, however thankfully only a short climb. Afterwards pathways are alongside hedgerows with great views and three lots of seating on the way. We return to Exminster down Deepway Lane then after a refreshment break catch our bus home. More information will be sent out nearer the date
