Quiz group June/July 2022

We met up twice in June  and enjoyed the fellowship whilst exercising  the grey matter.

As well as the General Knowledge rounds which are always a part of the quiz, on the 6th June the quizzers sought to answer questions on Royal residences, Getting back to nature, A song and a dance, Your number’s up and Love and marriage.

So would you have known where Princess Margaret was born or how many foot positions there are in ballet? How about your Greek cuisine and STIFADO or which common first name would be signalled in Morse code by six dashes?

Everyone must have been watching Sir David Attenborough’s documentaries as the Let’s get back to nature round came top of the pops. However the weakest link was Love and marriage.. No idea why as surely everyone knows in which country it is  traditional for a groom to give his mother a wild goose.

The subject rounds on the 20th June were Fathers, Dirt and Dust, Geoffreys, The 90s and Animal books.

We were less than normal but 4 teams still took part. Dirt and dust swept the board. However the General Knowledge and Animal Books questions turned out to be the most difficult this time.

So what was Big Daddy’s real name? What is the dirty part of a dirty Martini? Alphabetically what is the first country on earth?

The quizzes are always good fun and anyone would be most welcome to participate. A few weeks breather now before the July quizzes on the 18th and 25th of July.
