Adventure group – zip wires and treetop walks

All you need to know about our forthcoming trip to Go Ape in Haldon Forest:

Treetop challenge: 2-3 hours
Treetop adventure: 1 hour

Cost includes Chosen treetop activity. Please see Go Ape website for details.
Deadline for commitment Go Ape require that full payment is made on booking (see below).  Our group booking will be made on Thursday 28th October.  Anyone wishing to book after this date should contact enquiries@u3a.dawlish.info.
Deadline for payment in full Full payment to be paid to Dawlish and District u3a Treasurer by Wednesday 27th October 2021.

Cancellation policy 8 days before: full refund
7 to 3 days before: voucher for future use less £5 admin fee
2 days before: no refund.These deadlines are for the organiser to contact Go Ape.  Please give her as much notice as possible.Please also note that Go Ape will be open unless it is icy or stormy, or there are high winds or lightning, so the activity is unlikely to be cancelled due to bad weather.
Procedure for notifying group if provider cancels In the event of cancellation I will send an email to all those who have booked and update the details on the website.  Please check the website on the morning of the activity in case of last minute cancellation.
Level of fitness required or any particular skills (you must satisfy yourself that you are physically able to participate in the activity). You should be confident in balancing and heights and able to climb a long ladder.
Some manual dexterity for clipping and unclipping harnesses is required.
Personal medical conditions If you have any medical conditions that might affect your ability to participate then you should declare this to Go Ape staff on arrival.
Disclaimer Go Ape will require you to complete a disclaimer.  This can be completed online here or a paper copy can be signed on the day.

Appropriate footwear & clothing “We suggest that you wear something you don’t mind getting grubby. Dress for the weather so bring along a mac if it’s raining! You need to make sure you have the correct footwear with closed toe and heel (with flat soles), no sandals or slip-off shoes. Your stomach area will need to be covered and long hair must be tied back.”

Toilet / refreshment facilities There are toilets and a cafe on site.
Equipment provided Clips and harnesses.
Meeting point We will meet in the cafe at 11:30am.
Public transport and car parking facilities Plentiful car parking is available on site. There is a charge for parking.

Participants should follow government guidelines in travelling to the activity; maintaining physical distance; wearing face coverings and avoiding sharing food, drink and equipment.  It is recommended that you bring your own hand sanitiser.
