Page Turners – October 2021

Over the past few months the group has enjoyed ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ by Delia Owens and explored the experiences of migrants as described in ‘American Dirt’ by Jeanine Cummins. We have also discussed the treatment of lepers as depicted in ‘The Island’ by Victoria Hislop and contrasted this with our reaction to much shorter periods of isolation during the Coronavirus pandemic. Next month we will be discussing issues of race after reading the provocative ‘Forty Acres’ by Dwayne Alexander Smith.  Our choice for December is ‘The Thursday Murder Club’ by Richard Osman.

Meetings are usually held on the last Thursday of the month in members’ homes but the December meeting will be brought forward to the 16th.
