Adventure group – Axe throwing and Crazier golf

Later this month the Adventure Group will be releasing their inner savages with axe throwing and crazier golf.

This is what it involves:

Date and start time Thursday 23rd March 2pm
Duration Approximately 2 hours
Cost For 14 people the price will be £19 per person.
Cost includes Axe throwing: up to ten people will share a lane and take it in turns to throw an axe at the target.
Instruction will be provided by a venue host who will remain with us for the duration of this activity.
Crazier golf: with catapults, loops and conveyors, this is Crazy golf with attitude!
Golfers will make their own way round the course.
All necessary equipment is provided.

Important: Boom Battle Bar require all participants to complete their waiver here.

Members should not consume alcohol before Axe throwing (so no boozy lunches please!)

Deadline for payment The full cost per person to be paid to Dawlish and District u3a Treasurer by Wednesday 15th March.

Cancellation policy There will be no refund on the axe throwing element of this adventure because this activity is booked as a single price for the whole group.

The Crazier golf element is purchased individually so if cancelled at least 48 hours before the booking then it may be possible to move your booking to another date.

Procedure for notifying group if provider cancels In the event of cancellation I will send an email to all those who have booked and update the details on the website.  Please check the website on the morning of the activity in case of last minute cancellation.
Level of fitness required or any particular skills (you must satisfy yourself that you are physically able to participate in the activity). Boom Battle Bar is normally accessed via a staircase but wheelchair access is possible if arranged beforehand.

The Boom Battle Bar waiver states: “the Activities require a moderate level of fitness and can be physically demanding and require physical effort”. This applies particularly to the axe throwing.

Personal medical conditions If you have any medical conditions that might affect your ability to participate then you should declare this to Boom Battle Bar staff on arrival.
Disclaimer Please note that whilst the u3a organisers are concerned for everyone’s welfare, by taking part in this activity you should recognise that your safety is your own responsibility.
Appropriate footwear & clothing Casual clothing and closed toe shoes.  No hats, hoods or heels.
Storage of personal belongings There are no secure spaces for personal belongings although coat hooks are available.  Avoid taking valuables with you.
Toilet / refreshment facilities Boom Battle Bar have an on site bar and offer a menu of Boom bites. Other cafes and resturants are availabe locally in Exeter city centre.

On site accessible toilets are available.

Public transport and car parking facilities Boom Battle Bar is located in the Guildhall Shopping Centre in the centre of Exeter. It is less than five minutes walk from Exeter Central railway station. Buses to Exeter city centre are also available.
COVID-19 Although COVID rules have been relaxed, we ask group members to respect each others’ personal space and ensure physical distancing where possible. It is recommended that you take hand sanitiser since some equipment will be shared.  Lateral flow tests and face masks are optional but encouraged.
