Strollers Social Walking Group – August/September 2024
Six members of Dawlish & District U3A Strollers group enjoyed a new walk in August, following a route chosen by Richard. We caught the train to Topsham where we were led on a lovely circuit stroll around the outskirts of Topsham. We had a refreshment break at the quirky Cuppa Cabin before heading back to the station for our train home.
Our next Strollers group walk, from Bishops Walk to Wellswood, is on Thursday Sept 12th. We’re catching the number 22 Torquay / Paignton bus from Dawlish at 12.10pm or the same bus from Teignmouth at 12.24pm.
We get off the bus at Babbacombe Rd close to where the Palace Hotel used to be. We then walk down the lane to just above Ansteys Cove/ Redgate beach where we join the SW coastal path ie at Bishops Walk
The walk takes us via woodland with coastal views. We come out onto Illsham Marine Drive and from there we walk up Illsham Rd to our refreshment stop at the Kent’s pub at Wellswood. Buses home are hourly from the nearby bus stop at just after 40 mins past the hour.
Our October 10th walk will be up to and around the Exminster Ridgetop Country Park.
