Quiz group – August/September 2024

The members got together for a Bank Holiday special and tackled a variety of subjects; Songs with jobs in the title, General Knowledge, 2013, Pink and Purple, Enough space and Night time.

The quizzers were all in the pink, as that round scored the most points. However 2013 proved difficult; striving to recollect what happened in that year. Sometimes we can’t bring to mind what we did yesterday, let alone eleven years ago.

• ‘Sailor, stop your roaming’ was first sung by Anne Shelton
• The word ‘Futon’ originally comes from the Japanese language
• Croatia joined the EU in 2013
• The Pink lady apple is the offspring of the Australian Lady Williams and the American Golden delicious
• Space Junk is the term used for debris that orbits earth
• Viola and Sebastian are the twins in Shakespeare’s twelfth night
