Strollers Social Walking Group – August/September 2022

Our planned August walk to the new Exminster park was postponed at 24 hours’ notice due to the extreme hot weather forecast.  However, a few of us Strollers instead did a shorter shady walk down Love Lane, Mules Park, The Dell and Eastcliff and on downhill to a Teignmouth cafe.

Our September Strollers walk on Thursday September 8th will be from Teignmouth to Homeyards Botanical Gardens at Shaldon.

From Dawlish catch the number 2 Newton Abbot bus at 12.32pm to the Sea View Diner stop in Teignmouth.  We’ll walk along the seafront and back beach, then up over the railway footbridge and along the footpath by the railway line to Shaldon bridge. From Shaldon there are various routes uphill to the Botanical Gardens. After exploring the gardens we’ll head to a pub or cafe for refreshments before catching the ferry back over to Teignmouth.

Our postponed Exminster Ridgetop Country Park stroll has been rescheduled for October 13th. We’ll be catching the number 2 Exeter bus from Teignmouth at 12.10am and Dawlish at 12.25pm.

The plan is to get off the bus opposite the garage at the far end of Exminster then enter the park by the nearby footpath. The first field is quite steep but worth it for the views at the top. Pathways are then mostly alongside hedgerows with great views. There are three lots of seating plus information boards. We leave the park via the downhill Deepway Lane then head for a cafe or pub for refreshments before catching the twice hourly bus home.
