Great Lives – July 2022

Seven of us met at Barbara’s on 22nd July for Hil’s presentation of the Great Life of Jules Verne. We all thought we were familiar with Jules Verne but, as usual, we discovered there was so much more that we didn’t know; and although he wrote for entertainment, many of his ideas were extraordinarily prescient.

We have been pleased to be joined by new members; and there is always room for more. Although I shall soon be passing the Convenor’s baton to Jill, I shall remain a member of the Great Lives group: truthfully, the most empathetic group I have ever convened.
