Adventure group Cave walks at the William Pengelly Cave Studies Centre

It is difficult to comprehend how far back in time the caves go.

We had an amazing insight into these well preserved and historical caves at Buckfastleigh on Thursday 18th May 2023.

Thirteen of us joined our group at the caves at 11.00 am. We were met by our guide Sheila who gave us a short history of the caves and why they are so important.

The bat caves were an interesting addition although we were not allowed to enter them as there would be too much disturbance at this time of year.

The museum was very interesting and we were able to hold a few pre-historic bones.

After our visit a few of us went for lunch at Buckfast Abbey.

I am looking forward to our next adventure.
