Quiz group – May 2024

Whilst the 6th May was a Bank Holiday Monday there was no rest for the quizzers as they got to grips with the subjects of Georges, Deaths by date and cause, General Knowledge, The American revolution, Musicals and Fictional cities.

Having received the results, I was able to table that the bulls eye round, due to two jokers played, was the Musicals subject. The weakest link was the General Knowledge subject. However putting the jokers to one side, Deaths by date and cause was a good round, with one team achieving 10 out of 10 and another 9.

Over to you to see if you would have known that:

  • Georges Simenon the writer who wrote Maigret was Belgian
  • Jim Morrison died of an overdose in Paris in 1971
  • Cointreau is added to Brandy to make a ‘side car’
  • The first battles of the American Revolution were at Lexington and Concord
  • Defying Gravity is a song from the musical ‘Wicked’
  • Minas Tirith was the fictional city for Lord of the Rings

There was only one quiz in May and the group will have had a four week break to revitalise the brain cells, before re-convening on Mondays 3rd and 24th June.
