Gardens and Gateaux – October 2022
The Gardens and Gateaux group finished this year’s garden visits, with a trip to Burrow Farm Gardens.
Yet again, we were lucky enough to have reasonably good weather, although it was a bit worrying driving through torrential rain on the way there.
Walking round it was obvious that a lot more rain was still needed, as the streams where mostly empty, as were the ponds. However, it was dry for our stay and there was plenty to look at and some breath-taking views across the countryside.
I was personally delighted to see a large number of robins around the house and terraced garden.
Looking back over the past year, convening this group has been very rewarding. A lovely group of people, enjoying trips to beautiful gardens, and all that gateaux. What’s not to like?
We are holding our last group meeting of the year in the Strand Centre, on Tuesday 11th October, then we reconvene under the expert guidance of Jenny Lancaster (our new convener) on Tuesday 11th April 2023. We already have some exciting ideas for future outings.
