Boules group – December 2024

The Boules Group has settled well into our new winter quarters, playing Dawlish Rules Indoor Boules throughout the winter months in the Methodist Church Hall. We were evicted from the Strand Hall earlier this year on the grounds of noisy behaviour unbefitting pensioners, and that they needed somewhere for the new Banking Hub. It’s a spectacular and dramatic game for those no longer with the physique or faculties to tackle anything more demanding, which is most of us.

Next summer will also prove demanding, with the work on the Lawn by South West Water perhaps restricting our playing area. I shall appeal to them to leave us something to play on, in addition to our monthly trips to Exminster, and our continuing indoor sessions. Everyone is welcome, no experience or equipment is required, although a sense of humour is. Do contact me for further details.
