
Adventure group – Murder Mystery experience

Fancy yourself as a detective? Put your skills to the test by solving a murder mystery aboard the South Devon Railway.
We have to book early for this one to guarantee our places; the details are as follows:

Location of activity | The train leaves from Buckfastleigh station.
Directions: From Dawlish and Teignmouth, travel via Newton Abbot and the A383 to the A38. Leave the A38 at the Dart Bridge junction and follow the brown signs for the South Devon Railway. Satnav: TQ11 0DZ. |

Cost | £32 per person |
Cost includes | A murder mystery experience, set on South Devon Railway’s steam train. Your payment also includes a hot Devon pasty.
Drinks are not included. |
Deadline for commitment | Monday 28th July By this date please notify Miggie of your chosen pasty. The options are: steak pasty, cheese and onion pasty and roasted vegetable pasty (vegan). Unfortunately they do not cater for gluten free or other dietary requirements. |
How and when to pay | Please pay the full amount to D&D u3a by Saturday 2nd August (bank details below).

Cancellation policy | We should be able to cancel an individual booking up until Thursday 25th September, subject to a £5 administration fee. After this, this adventure is non-refundable unless you can find someone else to take your place. |
Procedure for notifying group if provider cancels | In the event of cancellation I will send an email to all those who have booked and update the details on the website.
Please check the website before you leave in case of last minute cancellation. |
Level of fitness required or any particular skills (you must satisfy yourself that you are physically able to participate in the activity). | No special fitness requirements. |
Personal medical conditions | If you have any medical conditions that might affect your ability to participate in the activity then you should declare this to the instructor on arrival. |

Appropriate footwear & clothing | There is a casual dress code for the evening but, if you would like to dress for the era, a prize is available for the best outfit. |
Storage of personal belongings | You will carry any belongings with you. |
Toilet / refreshment facilities | Toilets are available at Buckfastleigh station and on the train. The on-train Buffet Car will be open for the sale of hot, cold and alcoholic drinks, including wine, local beers and cider. |
Public transport and car parking facilities | Free parking is available at Buckfastleigh station.
If you are travelling by car we encourage car sharing. If you need or are willing to offer a lift please let Miggie know. |

Risk assessment | This adventure has been risk assessed as equivalent to normal daily activity. A full risk assessment document has therefore not been completed.
Note from SDR: care should be taken because the carriage doors are of the “slam door” type and do not have central locking. |
