Adventure Group meeting – 10th January 2025

The next meeting of the Adventure group will be Friday 10th January 2025 at 10am in the Mayor’s Parlour, The Manor House, Dawlish.  Please save this date in your diary.

This is the meeting where we discuss, choose and vote on the group’s activities for the next year.

All group members are welcome to attend.  Please let Miggie know via adventure@u3a.dawlish.info if you hope to be there so she can make the necessary arrangements.

In order that we have an interesting selection of activities to consider, I invite all group members to send in their ideas for future adventures. As they come in, these will be added to the list below and the list will form the basis for our discussions.

Please note that suggestions should be in line with the group’s purpose “to offer to Dawlish & District u3a members the opportunity to try out new and challenging activities together”.  Not everything has to be an extreme sport but we do encourage you to suggest activities that people are less likely to do on their own.

  • Clay shooting – Devon Activity Centre (repeat adventure, new location)

  • Escape room – Devon Escape
  • Exeter Cathedral rooftop tour
  • Gliding (repeat adventure)
  • Go Karting – Dawlish Warren Go Karts or other location?
  • Kayaking (repeat adventure, possible new location)
  • Manor House Okehampton (repeat residential trip)
  • Murder Mystery experience – South Devon Railway
  • Nordic walking
  • Quad biking (repeat adventure, new location)
  • Rowing/sculling (multi rower boat)
  • Segway – Devon Activity Centre (repeat adventure, new location)
  • Splat Attack
  • Treasure Hunt & Maze Devon – Devon Activity Centre
  • Virtual Reality gaming – VR:VE (repeat adventure)

When you send in your ideas it would be helpful if you could refer us to a website for any provider you may have in mind (but don’t worry if you don’t know of any, we still want to receive your suggestions).

If there is an activity listed above without any provider and you know of one then please do let us know.
