Adventure group go shooting again

We’ve previously tried rifle and pistol shooting but this was the Adventure group’s first attempt at wielding a shotgun. We returned to Ashcombe Shooting Ground (previously the venue for Archery) and this time had a go at Clay Shooting.

The people in the group I watched today were all more or less beginners (if previous experience is over 40 years ago then I don’t think it counts!)  They had 25 shots each, an initial practice shot then eight shots at each of three locations.  The clays flew first from the left, then away from us up the middle of the shooting ground and finally out of the trees on the right.

By the end, everyone had bagged at least four clays, with the winner, Dave, managing an impressive 14 hits.

I’m not sure how yesterday’s group got on, especially the folk that managed 50 shots, but I gather the experience was much enjoyed.  A big thank you to Justin and John who were our friendly and very patient instructors.
