Adventure group – shoot ’em up!
I am delighted to say that despite a barrage of pellets exploding all around us, our gung-ho Adventure group members survived their shooting experience unscathed.
Sixteen u3a members went to Crackshot near Newton Abbot to have a go at air pistols, air rifles and a very exciting shooting simulator. It turned out that some of us were really pretty good at the rifles, with one group achieving 113 points out of a maximum possible of 120! This earned them the seasonal prize of a chocolate bunny.

The simulator offered various shooting options. I’m told that the first set chose the more serious competitive options but the folk I was with went for the full Wild West experience – exhibiting great enthusiasm, very mixed success and much hilarity!

Despite the mixed performances, we all enjoyed ourselves and some members were saying they would go back and do it again with their families. I’d say that was a good result!
