Theatre group review: The Business of Murder

The Business of Murder at Shaftesbury Theatre Dawlish.

The Theatre Group had a good attendance at the last performance of this play on Saturday 4th February. Written by Richard Harris, it was first performed  in 1981; it ran for eight years in its London premiere.

The play is set in a contemporary flat and has three characters: Stone, Hallet and Dee. Stone invites Hallet, a retired detective, and Dee, a fiction crime writer, to the flat separately. Connections are disclosed in the course of the play.  The unique and clever plot never failed to intrigue the audience. Based on revenge and sacrifice it was well acted and kept the onlookers guessing up the the last few moments of the play.
