Tea & Chat changes for 2026
The Tea & Chat, Group meetings, and Board Games, held monthly at the Riverside Centre, will be taking on a slightly different format for 2026.
Our branch holds a monthly meeting at the Manor House on the third Monday of each month, featuring various speakers on subjects on interest. This is followed by an opportunity to chat with other members; it is also a good place for new or prospective members to find out more about us. This is well attended by our members and will continue in the same format.
“Tea & Chat” was introduced to give everyone a second opportunity to meet and again allow new people to join in and find out more about all the activities available. To make good use of the room (The Riverside Centre) other activities and group meetings were held at the same time.
It has been difficult to adequately host several things taking place at the same time so our new program for 2026 will be as follows:
2pm to 3pm Tea & Chat. This is open to all members to socialise as well as giving an opportunity for new and prospective members to find out more about our group activities. It will continue to be held on the first Thursday of each month, and there should always be some group leaders or committee members available to answer questions.
At 3pm there will be a free draw* for a bottle of something or a box of chocolates.
From 3pm to 4pm we will be keeping the venue open for group meetings or group games. Everyone is welcome to stay for both hours and it is likely there will be something to take part in.
Last chance for tea or coffee is 3.30 and the room closes at 4pm.
Cover charge for room and refreshments (*includes free draw ticket if you arrive before 3pm) is £1.50. This is for one or both hours, or any part thereof. You can come and go as you please and can bring a guest at the same rate.
We hope to see many of you there during the coming year.
