Manor Resort 2026 – Invitation to book
In November we’re heading back to the Manor House Hotel at Okehampton. Adventurers last visited the resort in March 2024 and there has been strong interest in returning for more fun and fitness.
The Manor Resort and its sister, the nearby Ashbury Hotel, is a unique UK resort combining leisure, craft, spa, golf and sports facilities.
Read on to find out more about this exciting opportunity and how to book your place.
Bookings are on a full board basis. There are a wide range of sports and leisure activities on offer (booked on a first come, first served basis); up to 27 holes of golf per day; hydro spas; evening entertainment; and craft tuition. Once you are there, the only extras are drinks, the cost of any materials used in some craft activities, and a golf buggy should you need one.

| Getting there | For those wishing to use public transport, the hotel offers a minibus service from Okehampton railway station (book seven days in advance).

Note that offers are sometimes available, depending on when you book. To find out about these, we recommend signing up for special offers. Single rooms: note that prices are generally based on two people sharing a room. A single supplement applies for single occupancy (in some cases a double or twin room used by one person may be charged at the full two-person rate). If you are booking just for yourself and would like to share with someone, please let Phil Wales know (adventure@u3a.dawlish.info) to see if you could be put you in touch with another guest who may wish to share. |
| Cost includes | Full board accommodation with access to a huge range of activities, crafts and golf.
Most activities are completely free (including necessary equipment) but charges will be made for consumables (e.g. in crafts). The resort will invite you to download their free app a short while before you go so you can pre-book some activities. |
| How and when to pay | Important note: The Adventure Group is acting only in a co-ordinating capacity for this adventure. Please book directly with the Manor Resort either online here or phone 0333 255 2199.There is no deadline for booking but room availability cannot be guaranteed (especially for single, triple and quad rooms). Please let Phil Wales know via adventure@u3a.dawlish.info when you have made your booking. Phil can then keep you up to date with any relevant information beforehand. |

| Appropriate footwear & clothing | You should pack clothing and footwear appropriate to the activities and crafts you intend to particpate in. Don’t forget your swimwear for your dawn swim or an end of day dip in the hydro spa! As far as we are aware, there is no evening dress code. |
| Pre trip meeting | We’d like to ensure everyone gets the most of this adventure. A pre-trip meeting will be held 2-3 weeks prior to departure.
