Simple Science

Recreating the atmospheric railway

The Simple Science group has decided to take a break.

When active, we try to arrange a presentation on some aspect of technology each month, which often leads to lively discussion.

Topics covered so far include: Computers – tablets – mobile phones – DAB Radio – cryptography and the Enigma Machine – the computerisation of railway signalling – archery – wind, water and solar power — and many others.

This may all sound very technical, but the presentations and discussions are kept to a level that everyone can understand. We have even been known to laugh and enjoy ourselves!

Members are encouraged to bring along any interesting devices or suggest any science and technology related topics they consider might be of collective interest. Please note that just because someone suggests a topic, it does not mean that they have to present it or lead the discussion.

If you are interested in joining this group when their break comes to an end, please contact Jack Whitehead via email at enquiries@u3a.dawlish.info or using our Contact form.
