In Our Own Write – August/September 2024

Our numbers have been severely depleted in the past few months due to holidays but as long as we have had three participants we have had a meeting.

Last week our topic was “It was his/her 5th birthday” and we had an autobiographical account of one member about picking blackberries with her sister in an abortive attempt to raise funds to go and watch Bambi at the cinema. The other two were entirely fictional with one five year old celebrating his birthday by rescuing his family from a hostage situation by calling 999, and the other about a little boy’s birthday wish of getting a bike coming true with help from an elderly neighbour.

Our next meeting will be on the 9th September and the topic will be “Which was your best birthday and why?”
