Bookworms Summer 2020

Well, it’s nearly that time again. Next week, Thursday 25th June we will discuss “A Place Called Winter” by Patrick Gale. I am not able to be with you as I am at the hospital on that day. I am sure you will carry on fine without me. I am also hoping this will reach Liz Hawarth, as all my mail to her is still bouncing back. If you see her can you explain please.
Now, we have had several suggestions for the July/August book. No August meeting; you never know grandchildren may be around again.
For July/August, from the suggestions, I have chosen “Birds Without Wing” by Louis de Berniers. For September we can read “Days Without End”, Sebastion Barry.
Several members suggested Barbara Kingsolver’s books. “The Poisonwood Bible” is a brilliant book, but several others have been suggested. Next month I will draw up a long list of her books and we can choose as a group. Brilliant author. I am delighted her name has come up.
