Adventure group – Quad biking April 2025

Our second quad biking adventure is taking place but this one is at a new location:  the Escot Estate near Exeter.

Here are all the details:

Please aim to arrive there about at about 11am for check in..
Duration 55 minutes
Cost, including deposit required £55 per person, including £10 deposit.

Possible extra costs to hire balaclava, gloves, waterproofs (or take your own).

Additional financial liability A group damage deposit of £250 will be taken on the day, to be refunded in full after the experience, assuming there is no damage other than  general wear and tear on the bikes.

The group deposit will be paid on your behalf on the day but participation in this adventure is on the understanding that each individual will be liable for the payment of charges for any non wear and tear damage to their own bike.

Cost includes Video briefing and training track laps.

One hour standard quad safari. On and off road. Approx 4-6 miles of varied terrain tracks. 

Equipment provided Fully automatic 350cc quad bike and all safety gear (full face helmet with visor; back protector).
Deadline for commitment Please notify Deborah by Thursday 27th March if you wish to attend.
How and when to pay Please pay the £10 deposit to D&D u3a by Thursday 27th March (bank details below).

The balance to be paid by Thursday 3rd April.

Please note, it is really important that you add the reference so our Treasurer knows what the funds are for.

Cheque payments:
Bank transfers are preferred but if you wish to pay by cheque please ensure the Treasurer has your cheque in sufficient time for it to clear by the deadline.

Cancellation policy Cancellation between 27th March and 3rd April will incur loss of deposit.
Cancellation on or after 4th April will incur loss of full amount. Anyone needing to drop out will still need to pay unless they can find someone to take their place.
Procedure for notifying group if provider cancels In the event of cancellation Deborah will send an email to all those who have booked and update the details on the website.

Please check the website on the morning of the activity in case of last minute cancellation.

Level of fitness required or any particular skills (you must satisfy yourself that you are physically able to participate in the activity). People with back injuries or any other serious health problems, should not participate. 

Potential participants are advised to enquire in advance if they are not sure about any other medical condition.

Personal medical conditions If you have any medical conditions that might affect your ability to ride the quad bike then you should declare this to the instructor on arrival.
Disclaimer Please note that whilst the u3a organisers are concerned for everyone’s welfare, by taking part in this activity you should recognise that your safety is your own responsibility.
Appropriate footwear & clothing Advised to wear old clothing and Wellington boots if possible. Waterproofs (£3) and gloves (£2) can be hired or bring your own.
All riders are also required to wear a balaclava, these can be hired at £1.50 or you can bring your own.
Storage of personal belongings Electronic devices are not permitted whilst riding due to health and safety reasons. Instructors carry a mobile phone, just in case. Participants are advised to leave belongings at home or in their car.
Toilet / refreshment facilities On-site Coach House cafe with 10% off when riding with Exeter Quad Centre.
Public transport and car parking facilities Free car parking is available on site.

We recommend car sharing.  If you are unable to arrange this for yourself then please contact Deborah and she will try to find a lift for you.
