About Christine Wallach
I have been a speaker for over 20 years, at business conferences when I was in business in North Yorkshire, and more latterly in the South. I am a member of the International Speaker Organisation known as Toastmasters and have reached Distinguished level within the organisation.
I have visited many groups including Probus, U3A’s, Women’s’ Groups and WIs in the area, travelling as far as Newbury in the East and St Agnes in Cornwall. I have also been an after-dinner speaker for luncheon clubs and functions, including a mayor’s ball.
I am a mother of seven, grandmother to twenty-one and widowed twenty months ago, so have considerable availability, both day time and evening.
The talk I am most frequently asked to give is titled ‘Now I Belong to Me’.
Just before my 50th birthday, my husband and I and five of our seven children were summarily excommunicated from a strict and restrictive religious cult and found ourselves outside the community without any support and not a friend in the world and all this because our two sons had broken the strict rules about not going to the cinema.
We had both been born into the group and knew little of the outside world, and it took us many months to begin to adjust to our new lives. My story is about how I personally worked my way into being a successful business woman in my own right, the highs and lows of this journey, and how our family coped with the trauma.
