Adventure Group – Quad biking

We’ve done kayaks, Segways, and sailing boats, now our latest transportation is to be the quad bike!

Here are the pertinent details:

Date and start time Thursday 16th June 1:30 to 3:30pm and Wednesday 29th June 1:30 to 3:30pm
Please aim to arrive there about 15 minutes before the start time.
Duration 2 hours
Cost, including deposit required £55 per person, including £10 deposit.
Cost includes Safety briefing, full instruction, approximately 45 mins on their practice circuit and 45 mins to 1 hour on woodland tracks.
Equipment provided Quad bike and all safety gear.  Waterproofs are available.
Deadline for commitment Please notify Ann by Tuesday 17th May if you wish to attend. Please indicate your availability for one or both dates.  She will then be able to confirm the booking.
How and when to pay Please pay the £10 deposit to D&D u3a by Friday 20th May (bank details below).

The balance is payable direct to Devon Leisure on the day.

Please note, it is really important that you add the reference so our Treasurer knows what the funds are for.

Cheque payments:
Bank transfers are preferred but if you wish to pay by cheque please ensure the Treasurer has your cheque in sufficient time for it to clear by the deadline.

Cancellation policy Cancellation at any time will incur loss of deposit.
Procedure for notifying group if provider cancels In the event of cancellation Ann will send an email to all those who have booked and update the details on the website.

Please check the website on the morning of the activity in case of last minute cancellation.

Level of fitness required or any particular skills (you must satisfy yourself that you are physically able to participate in the activity). Ability to climb onto quad bike and follow instruction.
Personal medical conditions If you have any medical conditions that might affect your ability to ride the quad bike then you should declare this to the instructor on arrival.
Disclaimer Please note that whilst the u3a organisers are concerned for everyone’s welfare, by taking part in this activity you should recognise that your safety is your own responsibility.
Appropriate footwear & clothing Weather-suitable clothing (casual sportswear is ideal); sturdy trainers or boots. Gloves may be helpful.

You will also be required to wear a helmet, which is provided.

Toilet / refreshment facilities Toilets, showers, changing facilities, bar/restaurant and a picnic area are available on site.
Public transport and car parking facilities Plentiful free car parking is available on site.

If you require or can offer a lift then please contact Ann who will make the necessary arrangements.

Meeting point At the cafe/restaurant at 1:15pm
COVID-19 Although COVID rules have been relaxed, we ask group members to respect each others’ personal space and ensure physical distancing where possible. It is recommended that you take hand sanitiser.  Lateral flow tests and face masks are optional but encouraged.
