Wine Appreciation – September 2021

The Wine Appreciation Group has continued to meet monthly throughout the Covid crisis.  We had to be inventive with Zoom during the lockdowns. Now that it is possible for all members to meet in a well ventilated, Covid safe home, we have done so, since August.

Our recent September meeting saw 14 enthusiasts sampling red and white wines from The Sunday Times Wine Club, otherwise known as Laithwaites! We even enjoyed a Prosecco Frizzanti – that’s Prosecco but made ‘gently’, resulting in less pressure in the bottle. It has a string-tied cork, which you will need a corkscrew to extract. This wine is still fizzy but a little less lively than a normal Prosecco. Delicious!

Do come and visit the WAG stand at the Dawlish and District u3a Open Day on September 18th at the Strand Centre. We will be challenging your taste buds to tell the subtle difference between comparable red and white wines.’  Cheers!
