Becoming a member of the University of the Third Age (U3A) movement means joining a unique and exciting organization. It provides through its U3As, life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities. Retired and semi-retired people come together and learn together. They do this  not for qualifications but for its own reward: the sheer joy of discovery!

Members share their skills and life experiences. The learners teach and the teachers learn and there is no distinction between them. The U3A movement is supported by its national organization, the Third Age Trust.

Dawlish U3A opened to membership on May 8, 2014. It has now around 90 members and is expanding.

Members are generally drawn from Dawlish and the surrounding areas of Starcross, Cockwood, Cofton, Holcombe, Teignmouth and Bishopsteignton, and beyond.

Come along to one of our monthly meeting for a taster. New members are very welcome and may join one or more of our many interest groups.

Our annual subscription is £15. This covers public liability insurance, and two regular publications: Third Age Matters, a national magazine, and U3A Sources, an educational journal published three times a year.

Our Membership Application Form has been revised to meet the requirements of GDPR. The only organisation that has access to the names and addresses of our members is the company which oversees the distribution of the Third Age Trust magazines. If existing members wish to unsubscribe from receiving the Third Age Trust magazines, at any time, please contact the Membership Secretary.
