Membership

Becoming a member of the u3a movement means joining a unique and exciting organisation. Through its local u3as, it provides life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities. Retired and semi-retired people come together and learn together; not for qualifications, but for its own reward. The sheer joy of discovery! In a recent survey of members nationally (Dec 2019), respondents confirmed that membership improved their social lives, broadened and enhanced their interests, increased their knowledge and understanding, and gave them new interests – just some of the benefits, and that’s pretty good going!

But as our slogan emphasises, Dawlish & District u3a is also about laughing and living. Our interest groups include not only the fun of learning but also a variety of leisure and social activities to enjoy as well.

Dawlish u3a opened to membership on May 8, 2014 and is expanding all the time. In 2019, it changed its name to Dawlish & District u3a to better reflect the wider reach of its membership; members generally being drawn from Dawlish and the surrounding areas of Starcross, Cockwood, Cofton, Holcombe, Teignmouth and Bishopsteignton, and beyond.

So why not come along for a taster to one of our monthly meetings where guest speakers present on a variety of topics? Our meetings are held every 3rd Monday of the month at 2:30pm in the Manor House, Old Town Street, Dawlish. New members are always very welcome and may join one – or more – of our many interest groups.

See our How to Join page for further information, otherwise, if you have any questions at all, we’re happy to help. Contact us by email: enquiries@u3a.dawlish.info. Alternatively, you can use our contact form or simply come along to a meeting for a chat.
