Our remit for February was to write a piece to include 4 seemingly disparate subjects – an orange, a bare-footed girl, Billy McGill and a Barn. As always there were as many different interpretations as members of the group, but all were interesting and each a fresh view. It also stimulates conversation – which is why we don’t always have time to do a ‘10 minute write’ in the session! Our aim is to try to put our thoughts on paper. We are not trying to write ‘War and Peace’ (That’s been done!’) Neither are we looking to publish, although some might be so inspired. And it is not a dry English lesson. We just want to use our grey cells and imagination to have fun.
Our ‘homework’ for March is to continue from ‘Through the silence, she heard…’. Open interpretation of subject is not only allowed but welcomed! Give it a go!
We meet on the fourth Monday of the month at 10.30am at Edens Court, Teignmouth.
