French conversation – March 2021

The group met on Thursday with the members sharing what films they would be happy to watch over and over again.

The results of the Oscar jury resulted in the following:
Jungle Book, Gone with the Wind, Ice Age, Forrest Gump, Les Miserables, Chicago, The Wizard of Oz, West Side Story, The Great Escape, The Dirty Dozen, Legends of the Fall, Of Mice and Men and the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

I wonder if one of your favourite films is in the list?

The next French conversation group will be in two weeks time, Thursday 4th March, when the members will be talking about ‘If you could have dinner with anyone living or not, who would it be and why?’

Update: 8th March 2021:

Eight of us met to discuss who we would like to have dinner with and why. The people who were on the invitation list included Sir David Attenborough, Sir Alan Titchmarsh, Ben Fogle, Dame Judi Dench, John Dunne and Mother Teresa of Calcutta. One of the group mentioned having dinner with her parents and another with her best friends mother in Normandy.

It was a very stimulating conversation and the next group meeting will be on Thursday 18th March with the theme being ‘If you could only save one item from a house fire, what would it be?’
