Dawlish and District U3A Annual General Meeting 2020

Dawlish and District U3A members will have recieved the following message from our Secretary:

Dear Member,

Your Committee gave notice last month of our AGM for this year. We pointed out that this years AGM was deferred due to Covid-19 regulations and in the current circumstances we now find it is not possible to meet together for the AGM and uncertainty continues about the future. Therefore, it was decided that we should not delay further and hold this year’s AGM by videoconference, using Zoom. We regret that not everyone has access to or likes using Zoom and so we have tried to make the AGM as accessible as possible.

Nominations forms for the Committee have been sent via our newsletter and on our web page. The list of nominations received by the set date is attached. Four Officer posts and eight other Members of the Committee are to be appointed.  Where there are still vacancies this is shown and if you feel you would like to stand for one of these you can still do so. You will need to ensure that you have a paid up member to propose your nomination and a member to second you either at the meeting or by using a nomination form.

At the AGM members will vote on the appointments and reports. As this year is exceptional, votes will be accepted by email and post if you cannot attend the Zoom meeting. These must be received by me by the 19th September.

Quorum. It is a requirement that 20% of the membership be present at the AGM and therefore please make the effort to join our Zoom meeting. The AGM is usually a short meeting of less than half an hour. If the Quorum is not reached the AGM will have to be deferred.
